Operation Sagar Bandhu: India's Lifeline Aid to Cyclone-Hit Sri Lanka
India has extended humanitarian aid to Sri Lanka through Operation Sagar Bandhu, delivering 53 tonnes of relief materials via air and sea after Cyclone Ditwah struck. Over 2,000 stranded Indians have been brought back. Efforts continue to rescue and assist those affected by the cyclone.

In a swift response to the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah, India has launched Operation Sagar Bandhu to provide critical humanitarian aid to Sri Lanka. As of Monday, a total of 53 tonnes of relief materials have reached Sri Lanka via air and sea, according to the Government of India.
The Indian Navy and Air Force, in coordination with Sri Lankan authorities, have been integral in delivering much-needed supplies and carrying out extensive search and rescue operations. National Disaster Response Force teams have successfully rescued over 150 individuals, including nationals from multiple countries, solidifying India's role as a crucial first responder in the region.
The Ministry of External Affairs emphasized India's commitment to Sri Lanka under its Neighbourhood First policy and Vision MAHASAGAR, asserting continued support in rescue and relief efforts. The operation, highlighting bilateral ties, underscores India's dedication to regional security and humanitarian aid during crises.
