The arrest of Ronald Chitotela by the Anti-Corruption Commission is a big issue these days in Zambia and PF Government Spokesperson Dora Siliya expresses her happiness saying that it inspires confidence in the police. She said that his arrest should inspire confidence in the country’s law enforcement agencies and investigative wings.

A combined team of Zambia Police, Drug Enforcement Commission and Anti-Corruption Commission is currently interrogating Ronald Chitotela, country’s infrastructure and housing minister. His house was earlier searched for over three hours by the police and they seized several materials linked to corruption before he was taken into custody for interrogation.

During a media briefing in Lusaka, Dora Siliya opined that the action also spoke to President Edgar Lungu’s robust stance on the fight against corruption. The corruption allegations against Ronald Chitotela will be dealt with without any interference.

Siliya further assured the journalists that the country’s investigative wings were performing according to their mandate and that they would continue to do so.
