A violent confrontation between two groups in Sakharayapatna, Kadur, resulted in the murder of Congress worker Ganesh Gowda, police reported. The conflict, reportedly sparked by a dispute over a banner, occurred on Friday night, leaving several injured.
Authorities disclosed that the groups had previously clashed near a bar before the fatal attack near a local mutt around 9.30 pm. In response to the incident, a case has been filed at the Sakharayapatna police station and an investigation is underway.
Home Minister G Parameshwara assured that a thorough investigation would reveal the details behind the attack, while District Minister K J George condemned the violence and called it 'heinous.' Efforts to apprehend the suspects continue.
