A Patna police officer, Sanjeev Kumar, tragically died while on duty, as confirmed by officials on Sunday.
Kumar, who served as the Station House Officer (SHO) of Ramkrishna Nagar police station, collapsed after returning to his office from a patrol on Saturday night. He was rushed to a private hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
A police spokesperson stated that the cause of death is pending a post-mortem report. Kumar's unwavering service was honored with a guard of honour, led by Patna's Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya Sharma, before his remains were transported to his hometown in Muzaffarpur.
