Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV)—India’s premier institution dedicated exclusively to the transportation and logistics sector—signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global e-commerce leader Amazon. The partnership aims to strengthen academic–industry collaboration by enabling extensive knowledge sharing, joint curriculum development, research initiatives, and talent development for the rapidly expanding logistics ecosystem in India.

A Milestone Collaboration for Logistics Innovation

One of the most notable components of the MoU is the establishment of an Amazon Chair Professorship at GSV. This initiative will facilitate advanced research in warehousing, digital logistics, and supply chain optimisation, with a particular emphasis on data-driven decision-making frameworks. The Chair will serve as a strategic anchor for collaborative research projects, case studies, real-time industry problem-solving, and innovation pilots relevant to India’s logistics infrastructure.

The MoU also includes provisions for co-developing specialized courses, student training modules, internships, and faculty–industry immersion programmes, ensuring the academic curriculum remains aligned with real-world industry needs.

GSV’s Vision: Building India’s Next-Generation Logistics Workforce

GSV Vice Chancellor Prof. Manoj Choudhary expressed confidence that the partnership will accelerate India’s logistics transformation. He noted that, as the country’s sole university dedicated to the transportation and logistics sector, GSV is committed to creating a strong research ecosystem and nurturing skilled professionals who can drive national infrastructure growth.

Prof. Choudhary emphasized that Amazon’s leadership in logistics, warehousing automation, and supply chain innovation would offer invaluable insights for academic research and planning. He added that the collaboration will support co-working projects, smarter system design, and innovative logistics solutions aligned with India’s economic ambitions.
