In a scathing critique, Congress legislature party leader Vijay Wadettiwar has pinned the rampant farmer suicides in Maharashtra on the BJP-led Mahayuti government. Wadettiwar attributed the tragedy to policy failures, delayed agrarian relief, and general neglect of the farming community.

Speaking in the state assembly amidst the winter session, Wadettiwar called for a bonus of Rs 2,000 per quintal for soybean and Rs 1,000 per quintal for paddy. His speech highlighted inadequate compensation to farmers affected by unseasonal rains and an alleged unspent agriculture budget.

Wadettiwar further lashed out at the administration for rising crime rates, corruption, and human trafficking. He demanded special investigations into several scandals, including drug proliferation and missing children, while urging immediate policy interventions and transparency in land allocations.
