Officials from the Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama seminary are facing legal action after failing to report the stay of a Filipino national, Mohammad Aron Sarip, on their campus. The police have cited violations of laws concerning the registration of foreigners.
The case involves Sarip's visit to meet another Filipino student, spanning from November 30 to December 2. Hasanganj police registered an FIR against the principal, sub-registrar, a hostel warden, and security personnel for not notifying the authorities of Sarip's presence.
Sarip entered India on a tourist visa, and the charges include cheating and criminal conspiracy under the Registration of Foreigners Act and other related laws, according to police statements.
