A Delhi Motor Accident Claims Tribunal has awarded a substantial compensation of Rs 1.38 crore to the family of Kaushal Mishra, a 32-year-old engineer, who tragically lost his life after a car hit him on the Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram in December 2022.

The presiding officer, Sudeep Raj Saini, reviewed the claim put forth by Mishra's family, asserting that the accident stemmed from negligent driving by Aman Kushwaha. Reports state that Mishra was returning home when the collision occurred, leading to fatal injuries.

The tribunal, refuting the insurer's claim of Mishra being solely negligent, relied on eyewitness testimony and determined the car was on the wrong side. Consequently, the tribunal directed TATA AIG General Insurance Co Ltd to release the compensation amount to the dependents of the deceased under various heads of loss.
