Thane Sets Up Committee Following HC's Call to Address Road Mishap Claims

The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has responded to the directives issued by the Bombay High Court by forming a special committee. The focus of this committee is to investigate accidents resulting from potholes, open manholes, and other road maintenance neglect.

In a recent statement, the TMC revealed that the High Court, on October 13, directed local civic bodies to evaluate incidents leading to injuries or fatalities due to inadequate road conditions. This initiative calls on citizens or their families to report such events in the Thane region.

The committee is tasked with assessing these reports to facilitate compensation, as per regulatory guidelines, through the TMC. Civic chief Saurabh Rao emphasized their commitment to addressing public complaints and ensuring accountability in road safety.
