The arrest followed a routine patrol on December 15, when a police team became suspicious of a man near a scooter on Palm Beach Road. The suspect fled, leaving behind the vehicle, which led officers to uncover approximately 70 grams of mephedrone and 120 MDMA tablets.

The accused, identified as Nigerian national Aniehe Kingsley Chinedu, was later apprehended at his residence in Koparkhairane. Additional drugs valued at Rs 4 lakh were found during the subsequent search. Chinedu is facing charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
