The Goa Town and Country Planning department, spearheaded by Minister Vishwajit Rane, has significantly contributed to the state's economy, generating Rs 710 crore in revenue over the last five years. This remarkable figure was highlighted during the ongoing Assembly's Winter Session.

Minister Rane defended the department's financial operations amidst opposition allegations concerning excessive legal expenses. He explained that fees for expert private lawyers accounted for only 1.5% of total revenue, emphasizing their necessity in defending the state.

Furthermore, Rane criticized previous Congress-led administrations for converting 9.5 crore square metres of land into settlement zones, urging opponents of development to propose constructive plans for the state's progress.
