Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, in a recent event organized by the Delhi High Court Bar Association, emphasized the crucial role of lawyers in the administrative side of the justice delivery system. CJI Kant stressed that an ethical and prepared Bar can significantly strengthen the justice system, advocating for practical suggestions and active participation in reform processes. He believes such contributions can enhance trust in the system during transitional periods.

During the event, DHCBA President N Hariharan highlighted concerns about infrastructure and the low elevation of lawyers to judgeships. He noted a 27% vacancy in the Delhi High Court. CJI Kant responded with assurances that these issues would be addressed, lauding the DHCBA's role in fostering arbitration and mediation growth.
