The Patiala Police have resolved a perplexing murder case where a young man was brutally killed following a romantic fallout. Authorities disclosed that the primary suspect was allegedly influenced by crime-centric web series on an OTT platform.
Ghanaur DSP Harmandeep Singh Cheema identified the accused as Bikramjit Singh from Jogipur, Patiala. Driven by jealousy over a girl, Singh murdered Vikram Singh of Ghanaur. Vikram went missing on December 26, and despite the family's search, his decomposed body was found in early January, marking the crime's severity.
Following investigations, CCTV footage placed Vikram with Bikramjit, leading to deserted grounds where the gruesome act unfolded. The accused misled a girl into fleeing with him, spinning a narrative involving suicide to implicate her. The accused and the girl were eventually tracked over 3,000 km, leading to their arrest at Patna Railway Station.
