German authorities on Wednesday arrested Ilona W., a dual German-Ukrainian citizen, on espionage charges related to Russia's war activities in Ukraine.
She allegedly supplied sensitive information to a Russian intelligence operative and facilitated his attendance at political events in Berlin.
Prosecutors disclosed that her contacts included two former employees of the German Defense Ministry, who may have unknowingly contributed to foreign intelligence efforts.
