The Central Bureau of Investigation has called on the Andhra Pradesh government to address alleged misconduct by senior Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) officials in a case involving adulterated ghee used for Tirupati laddu preparation. The CBI's appeal follows accusations of deliberate negligence in tender conditions.
The State Investigation Team (SIT) claims officials, including former executive members, were complicit in approving flawed tender terms, thereby facilitating the entry of inefficient dairies into TTD contracts. These dairies are accused of providing adulterated ghee, undermining quality safeguards between 2020 and 2023.
Finance Minister P. Keshav announced the state's intent to pursue action against those identified in the SIT report, asserting that all implicated parties are considered guilty. A newly formed committee will further investigate potential administrative oversights, aiming to ensure accountability and uphold procurement standards.
