In a significant crackdown on narcotics, Jammu and Kashmir authorities have revealed that in 2025, a total of 1,863 FIRs were filed and 2,592 individuals were arrested for drug-related offenses across the Union Territory.
At the 16th NCORD meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Inspector General of Police (Crime) Sujit K Singh announced notable judicial progress—with 229 convictions and 240 preventive detentions under the PIT-NDPS Act.
Jammu and Kashmir's rank has soared to third nationally in property attachments linked to narcotics. The enforcement agencies also made large-scale drug seizures and aggressive efforts to eliminate illicit crop cultivation, signaling unwavering resolve in the anti-drug campaign.
