J&K Legislators Address Key Issues of Unemployment, Prisoner Transfer, and Development

Jammu and Kashmir's legislative assembly buzzed with activity on Wednesday as members aired various concerns, including high-profile issues like the detention of locals outside the territory, rampant unemployment, and regional development. Discussions revolved around finding resolutions and urging action from the government.

One focal point came from National Conference legislator Shamim Firdous, who raised the plight of students and young people detained in central jails outside the state. She implored the authorities to liaise with the Union government to facilitate their release or transfer to facilities within Srinagar.

The legislative session also highlighted demands for job opportunities, improved infrastructure, and safety for Kashmiris across India. Legislators acknowledged strides in sectors like power and education while calling for equitable resource distribution and support for agriculture and industry to spur growth in the region.
