Gurdwara Land Scam: SGPC Suspends Manager Over Fraudulent Sale

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President, Harjinder Singh Dhami, suspended the manager of Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib in Punjab for fraudulent land sales. A five-member committee is investigating the unauthorized actions, and legal steps are underway to cancel the illegitimate land registries.

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), led by President Harjinder Singh Dhami, has taken decisive action against the manager of Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib Patshahi Satvin, located in Mohali, Punjab. The manager, Rajinder Singh, stands accused of attempting to illegally sell land belonging to the revered shrine.

SGPC President Dhami emphasized the seriousness of these allegations, stating that legal proceedings have already commenced, and a comprehensive departmental inquiry is set to follow. The inquiry, spearheaded by a five-member committee, will aim to unravel the extent of the fraudulent activities and ensure accountability.

Dhami outlined that all property transactions involving Sikh institutions must adhere strictly to prescribed rules, requiring permission from the SGPC Executive Committee. He affirmed that any individuals implicated in this unauthorized sale would face stringent legal action, underscoring the SGPC's zero-tolerance stance on misappropriation of gurdwara assets.
