In a decisive move, Odisha Police successfully captured Madhukanta Kumar, one of the two prisoners who escaped from Choudwar Circle Jail in Cuttack, during the Durga Puja celebrations of the previous year. The high-stakes chase concluded after Kumar's arrest in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh.
The fugitive, originally from Begusarai district, was apprehended by a special task force from the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack police commissionerate. Utilizing an alias, Kumar had been evading authorities while seeking refuge at a guest house in an ashram.
Odisha Police remain relentless in their pursuit of Raja Sahani, the second escapee, urging the public for assistance. A cash reward of Rs 50,000 is being offered for any information leading to his capture.
