In a significant international diplomatic move, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar is set to attend the inaugural Board of Peace meeting chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump. The gathering on February 19 will convene in Washington with the primary focus on rebuilding the war-ravaged Gaza Strip.
Reports indicate that Trump will unveil a multi-billion dollar plan for Gaza's reconstruction and propose a United Nations-backed stabilization force for the Palestinian enclave. Representatives from over 20 nations will participate, reflecting support for the initiative, although traditional U.S. allies remain cautious.
The meeting follows a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas last year, amid ongoing tensions. While Hamas has resisted disarmament, the planned deployment of the International Stabilization Force aims to ensure peace as Israeli troops withdraw, further demanding diplomatic efforts for resolution.
