According to Shyam Deurwa SHO Abhishek Singh, the police team was returning from a successful raid in the Kushinagar district when the accident happened. Inspector Kumar, 50, succumbed to his injuries during treatment, with his colleagues still undergoing medical procedures at BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur.

The incident highlights the risks faced by law enforcement officers in the line of duty, eliciting concerns over road safety and emergency response measures.
