Major Drug Bust: Over 325 Kilograms of Cannabis Seized

A significant amount of cannabis, weighing over 325 kilograms, was seized by police forces during a routine inspection in Kerala on Monday. This haul has spotlighted the continuing battle against drug trafficking in the region.

The arrested suspect, Afzal, 23, hails from Karakulam and is allegedly involved in smuggling the narcotics from neighboring Tamil Nadu. The crackdown was prompted by confidential information received by City Police Commissioner K Karthik, leading to enhanced surveillance in notable areas such as Pravachambalam and Nemom.

A joint team from the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) and Nemom Police managed to intercept the vehicle carrying the contraband. Authorities stated that the operation would not cease with this arrest, as efforts to combat drug peddling continue vigorously.
