The sprawling complex, housing both the legislative assembly and council, is located at Nariman Point, South Mumbai. The budget session commenced on February 23 and is slated to conclude on March 25. During this time, security was heightened as a precaution following the emailed threat.
Authorities evacuated staff and secure protocols were activated while security agencies, including the city police's bomb detection and disposal squad, thoroughly checked the area. The premises were declared safe post-search. Meanwhile, investigations continue to trace the email sender, ensuring accountability for the disruption.
