In a critical evaluation of regional security, Lieutenant General Rajan Sharawat, the General Officer Commanding of the Rising Star Corps, assessed the operational preparedness of military personnel stationed in the Machhedi sector of Kathua district, Jammu and Kashmir.
This locale, part of the Bani-Machhedi mountainous belt, has been a hotspot for several attacks and armed confrontations over the past two years. It serves as a potential infiltration route to Doda, Kishtwar, and Udhampur districts from the International Border.
The General Officer Commanding commended the troops for their battle readiness, high morale, and unwavering commitment to their mission. Last year, the Army bolstered its presence in this high-altitude area to deter infiltration attempts.
