The Supreme Court has approved an additional nine months for the completion of the Sheena Bora murder case trial, setting a firm deadline that rules out any further extensions.

The decision was made by a bench of Justices MM Sundresh and N Kotiswar Singh following a request from the Special Judge of the City Civil and Sessions Court, Greater Bombay.

Indrani Mukerjea, the prime accused, has been granted the liberty to file a new application for international travel. The murder surfaced in 2015 after the arrest of co-accused Shyamvar Rai, who later turned approver. All suspects, including Peter Mukerjea, are currently on bail.
