The Supreme Court has announced it will hear a plea for a CBI or SIT probe into the distressing rape case of a four-year-old girl in Gurugram.
A three-judge bench, including Chief Justice Surya Kant, considered the plea after it was urgently presented by senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi. The hearing is scheduled for Monday.
Rohatgi emphasized the police's lackluster response, noting that no arrests have been made, and evidence such as CCTV footage remains uncollected. Despite an initial suggestion to approach the High Court, Rohatgi argued that immediate intervention by the nation's top court was imperative.
