In a sharp critique, Suvendu Adhikari, Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, has accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of violating the election code of conduct. Adhikari alleges that Banerjee improperly used her official letterhead for political correspondence, urging the Election Commission to take decisive action.
As the election fever rises, Banerjee's recent correspondence with Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has sparked controversy. Utilizing the chief minister's official pad, she expressed deep concerns over unilateral transfers of key state officials, a move she opposed.
Adhikari further demands the removal of Banerjee's images from government hoardings, as the election schedule necessitates adherence to the model code. Highlighting candidate controversies within the opposing party, he contrasts them with the BJP's grassroots selections.
