A Delhi court has taken decisive action in a high-profile corruption case involving senior officials of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). On Wednesday, the court ordered the 14-day judicial custody of Lt Col Abhishek Kumar Mishra, the Deputy Commissioner of Shahdara North, along with Devanshu Kumar Gautam, an administrative officer.
The two officials were implicated in a Rs 4 lakh bribery case and were subsequently arrested on Tuesday. The CBI, acting swiftly, filed a plea seeking their judicial custody, which was granted by Special CBI Judge Sudhanshu Kaushik. A detailed order is pending.
