Delhi Court Orders Judicial Custody in High-Profile Corruption Case

A Delhi court has sent MCD Deputy Commissioner Lt Col Abhishek Kumar Mishra and Administrative Officer Devanshu Kumar Gautam to 14-day judicial custody in a Rs 4 lakh bribery case. Special CBI Judge Sudhanshu Kaushik approved the CBI's request for custody. Both officials were arrested on Tuesday.

A Delhi court has taken decisive action in a high-profile corruption case involving senior officials of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). On Wednesday, the court ordered the 14-day judicial custody of Lt Col Abhishek Kumar Mishra, the Deputy Commissioner of Shahdara North, along with Devanshu Kumar Gautam, an administrative officer.

The two officials were implicated in a Rs 4 lakh bribery case and were subsequently arrested on Tuesday. The CBI, acting swiftly, filed a plea seeking their judicial custody, which was granted by Special CBI Judge Sudhanshu Kaushik. A detailed order is pending.

This development follows the accused officials' earlier one-day CBI custody, showcasing the agency's thorough approach to this significant corruption case.
