The Lok Sabha has officially recognized Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh, but the move has not come without controversy. Telangana Congress chief B Mahesh Kumar Goud has voiced concerns, accusing the Centre of neglecting Telangana's interests.
Goud pointed to unfulfilled promises outlined in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, including the proposed steel factory at Bayyaram in Khammam district. According to him, these remain unaddressed by the Union government.
To compound the issue, Goud criticized the lack of special funds and industrial incentives for the development of backward regions in Telangana. In light of these grievances, he has called for the Centre to fulfill its assurances to the state immediately.
