In a concerted effort to bolster emergency readiness, Delhi conducted an extensive civil defence mock drill across its 13 districts on Thursday night. The simulation encompassed hostile attack scenarios complete with air raid warnings, blackout measures, and evacuation exercises at 17 strategic locations around the city.
The Directorate of Civil Defence spearheaded the operation, which began at 8 pm in key areas such as hospitals, residential complexes, and public spaces. Civil defence teams, supported by various agencies, carried out rescue operations and medical response simulations, highlighting efficient coordination and public awareness.
Part of a routine initiative to boost emergency preparedness, the exercise involved thousands of volunteers and responders, seeing close cooperation among entities like the Delhi Police, National Disaster Response Force, and other civic bodies. District officers are set to report their findings to further enhance strategic readiness.
