Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in China on Tuesday, aiming to address pressing issues such as the Ukraine crisis and Iran, while also strengthening bilateral relations. Lavrov's arrival in Beijing was covered by Russian state television, as he prepared to engage in talks with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.

According to Russia's Foreign Ministry, the discussions will involve a comprehensive exchange of views on numerous 'hot topics' and regional concerns, featuring prominently the Ukrainian crisis and Middle Eastern dynamics. The agenda also includes exploring cooperation in global platforms like the United Nations, BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, G20, and APEC.

In February 2022, Russia and China announced a 'no limits' partnership during President Vladimir Putin's visit to Beijing, shortly before launching military action in Ukraine. As Russia and China deepen their alliance, U.S. intelligence regards them as Washington's principal rivals, spanning issues from the Arctic to nuclear weapons.
