The statement highlighted that Mohammadi appeared weak, pale, and had lost significant weight. Her health deteriorated further after she suffered a heart attack on March 24. Despite this, no immediate medical intervention was reportedly given for over an hour.

Mohammadi, a renowned rights lawyer, was arrested in December 2023 in Mashhad, Iran, leading to a seven-year sentence. Her imprisonment and ongoing health crisis have drawn international attention to her plight and the broader issues of political imprisonment in Iran.
