Rajasthan ACB Nabs SDM in Bribery Scandal

The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a sub-divisional magistrate and two staff for allegedly accepting a Rs 60,000 bribe in a land decree case. The accused demanded Rs 50,000, but were caught with Rs 60,000 and Rs 4 lakh found in their possession. An investigation is ongoing.

A sub-divisional magistrate and her team in Rajasthan's Karauli district were apprehended by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a Rs 60,000 bribe related to a land dispute decree. The action was carried out following a complaint about bribery.

The accused, SDM Kajal Meena, along with her reader Dinesh Kumar Saini and senior assistant Praveen Dhakad, were caught in Nadoti town as they allegedly collected the bribe. Initially, they had demanded Rs 1 lakh but lowered it to Rs 50,000. During the operation, Rs 4 lakh in cash was discovered, raising suspicions.

ACB Director General Govind Gupta confirmed that a case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act and further inquiries are underway to investigate the cash discovered with the accused during the arrest.
