The Jammu and Kashmir Police have made a significant breakthrough in curbing illegal activities by seizing more than 21.68 kg of illicitly grown opium plants. The action, conducted in the Kathua district, resulted in the booking of an individual involved in the unauthorized cultivation.

Acting on precise intelligence, police officials, under the direction of senior officers, launched a targeted operation in the Pallan area of Billawar. This decisive intervention saw the immediate destruction of the poppy cultivation, with due process being observed in the presence of an executive magistrate.

The operation has led to the booking of Khushi Mohd from Pallan in Billawar Tehsil. Legal proceedings have been initiated with a case registered at the Billawar police station as further investigations continue.
