The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) has blocked a building permit for a controversial commercial project near the Indian Military Academy (IMA), citing major security concerns. The decision came after the project's builder, Shivam Aggarwal, did not acquire a mandatory no-objection certificate from the IMA.
The 'Doon Curve' project has faced criticism for planning construction within a high-security sensitive zone, violating defence ministry guidelines. According to these policies, no building is allowed within proximity of 100 meters from any defence establishment without proper clearance.
MDDA's rejection follows internal army alerts and missed requirements by the builder. The authority emphasizes that no construction plans should proceed without adhering strictly to safety regulations. The IMA had previously questioned the advancement of this project without its oversight.
