Tragedy at MGM: Undertrial's Fatal Leap

An inmate under medical care at MGM Hospital met a tragic end after allegedly leaping from the seventh floor of the facility, according to police sources. The individual, Ashok Kumar, was detained in connection with the murder of his family members.

Kumar had been suffering from depression and previously attempted suicide while in jail, authorities revealed. This prompted his transfer to the hospital under close supervision by the prison staff. The shocking incident unfolded on Friday during a routine visit to a doctor within the hospital premises.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Bachandev Kujjur confirmed Kumar's earlier suicide attempt and elaborated on the measures taken to prevent his self-harm. Despite the precautions, the situation culminated in a fatal fall, adding a grim chapter to the case from Seraikela-Kharswan district.
