YSRCP MLC Ananta Satya Uday Bhaskar has been placed under 14 days of judicial custody by a local court on Saturday, following allegations of witness tampering in a murder case related to his driver's death in 2022.
The court's decision came after Bhaskar was arrested by police for his purported involvement in the murder of V Subrahmanyam, a Dalit, outside a district court on Friday. The charges relate to an altercation over money owed by the driver to Bhaskar, during which Bhaskar allegedly assaulted and unintentionally caused a fatal injury to Subrahmanyam.
Additionally, it is claimed that Bhaskar attempted to influence and threaten witnesses by offering bribes and coercing them into signing documents to misrepresent the incident as a road accident.
