A London software engineer was allegedly defrauded of approximately Rs 9.35 crore by an actress with marriage promises, police stated on Monday.
The victim's 60-year-old father filed a complaint with the Central Crime Station, alleging that the actress and her family members deceived his son by luring him into a fake marriage commitment.
Police have launched an investigation into the allegations after the actress reportedly took money and assets from the complainant’s son while misleading him with marriage assurances from 2018 to 2025.
