Air Marshal Yalla Umesh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Indian Air Forces Maintenance Command, visited Base Repair Depot at Air Force Station here during which he inspected all the divisions and reviewed the production progress of aircraft, avionics and aero-engines at the depot.

Air Marshal Yalla Umesh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Indian Air Force's Maintenance Command, visited Base Repair Depot at Air Force Station here during which he inspected all the divisions and reviewed the production progress of aircraft, avionics and aero-engines at the depot. He was on a two-day visit to the Air Force station that began on Monday. Air Marshal Umesh on Monday was received by Air Commodore Nipun Gupta, Air Officer Commanding, Base Repair Depot and presented with a guard of honour on arrival, an official statement issued on Tuesday said. During his visit, the Air Marshal inspected all the divisions and reviewed the production progress of aircraft, avionics, and aero-engines at the depot. ''He was updated on the progress of major projects such as the Medium Lift Helicopter Upgrade and Spike NLOS (Non-Line-of-Sight), which are shaping the Depot's contribution towards national defence capability,'' the statement said. Air Marshal Umesh was also briefed on new Transfer of Technology (ToT) cases and complex indigenisation projects progressing under 'Atma-Nirbhar Bharat' initiatives and the Make in India mantra. Interacting with depot personnel, the Air Marshal commended their dedication and professionalism. He praised the depot's commitment to carrying forward the legacy of 'Repair or Reclaim why Replace', while vigorously promoting indigenisation in line with national policy. The Air Marshal expressed full confidence in the collective capabilities of depot personnel to achieve operational excellence even under challenging situations.
