Property of two proclaimed offenders exfiltrated to PoK attached by police in JK's Poonch

Police said the accused were booked in 2002 at Mandi police station under provisions of the Egress and Internal Movement Control Ordinance Act and were later declared proclaimed offenders after fleeing to Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Police on Tuesday attached immovable property belonging to two proclaimed offenders in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district in connection with a long-pending criminal case, officials said. The property is jointly owned by Mukhti Bi, daughter of Abdul Aziz and wife of Zamana Lone, and Abdul Aziz, who had exfiltrated to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and remained absconding for several years, they said. The attached property includes an old residential house built on land measuring two kanal and five marlas in the Chamber Kanari area of Mandi tehsil. Police said the accused were booked in 2002 at Mandi police station under provisions of the Egress and Internal Movement (Control) Ordinance Act and were later declared proclaimed offenders after fleeing to Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Despite repeated efforts by police to secure their arrest, they remained absconding. Acting on court directions, police carried out the attachment in coordination with the revenue department after completing legal formalities.
