A British white supremacist was convicted on Thursday for preparing acts of terrorism, according to prosecutors. Alfie Coleman attempted to purchase a gun and ammunition from undercover officers, paying £3,500 for a pistol and about 200 rounds of ammunition before his September 2023 arrest.
The 21-year-old, who idolized Adolf Hitler and was inspired by known attackers like Thomas Mair and Dylann Roof, was arrested with manifestos written by other extremists. He had created his own manifesto advocating for violence against those not aligned with his views.
Despite denying involvement in terrorist plans, Coleman was found guilty after a retrial. Authorities noted his extensive consumption of extremist material during his teenage years, exacerbated by the COVID-19 lockdown. The Crown Prosecution Service described him as motivated by extreme ideology and racist hatred.
