Court Orders Preservation of Late Sunjay Kapur's Assets Amid Will Dispute
The Delhi High Court has directed the preservation of late industrialist Sunjay Kapur's assets following a dispute over his will. The order came after concerns raised by his children with actor Karisma Kapoor regarding 'suspicious circumstances.' Priya Kapur, Sunjay's third wife, must clarify these issues to validate the will.
The Delhi High Court ruled to preserve the assets of late Sunjay Kapur amidst a legal challenge over his will, instigated by children from his marriage with Karisma Kapoor. The court emphasized that Priya Kapur must address the 'suspicious circumstances' before the will's acceptance.
In an interim order, Justice Jyoti Singh restricted changes to equity shares and the sale of personal effects, safeguarding the assets from being alienated by Priya Kapur. The interim decision stems from concerns about the purported will's authenticity.
Justice Singh highlighted the necessity of preserving the deceased's estate, including equity in three Indian firms. The court specified ongoing restraints on foreign accounts and cryptocurrencies, ensuring asset security pending the trial's outcome.
