India's Enforcement Directorate: Empowering the Fight Against Financial Crimes

Union Minister Pankaj Chaudhary emphasized the strengthened role of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for empowering the agency to combat financial crimes such as money laundering, corporate fraud, and corruption. He refuted claims that the ED targets political entities, stating its purpose is to protect national and economic security.

Union Minister Pankaj Chaudhary praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts to empower the Enforcement Directorate (ED) during the 70th ED Day celebrations. Chaudhary dismissed accusations that the ED is a tool against opposition parties, emphasizing its role as a defender against financial crimes like money laundering and corruption.

The minister highlighted the ED's remarkable work, including asset attachments worth Rs 2.36 lakh crore, and underscored its contribution to national economic security. He noted PM Modi's zero-tolerance approach to corruption, reaffirming the agency's unbiased pursuit of justice irrespective of political influence.

Chaudhary praised the dedication of ED officers and underscored the government's commitment to strengthening bank management and handling non-performing assets. The minister cited the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code as instrumental in tackling financial challenges.
