A crucial step in the 2010 hand-chopping case of Professor T J Joseph has been initiated as the Ernakulam Special Court for NIA cases moves forward with framing charges against main suspects.
The suspects, Savad and Shafeer, face allegations under the IPC, Explosive Substances Act, and UAPA. Savad, captured recently after being on the run, and Shafeer, who assisted him, have spurred significant legal action.
As legal proceedings advance, the court has scheduled May 15 for the suspects to present their pleas, paving the way for the subsequent trial.
