A Russian drone strike targeted a bus in Ukraine's southern city of Kherson, leading to two fatalities and injuring seven, mostly public utilities workers, confirmed Governor Oleksandr Prokudin via Telegram. Images from the scene depict the bus with shattered windows and a body stained with blood.
Ukrainian human rights ombudsman, Dmytro Lubinets, described these attacks as a terror tactic against civilians. Although Ukrainian forces reclaimed Kherson in 2022, the city faces ongoing threats from Russian forces stationed across the Dnipro River.
Moscow's troops stand accused of intentionally targeting civilians in areas like Kherson with small drones. Simultaneously, Odesa experienced persistent aerial strikes, as regional governor Oleh Kiper reported damage to a port's warehouse. Ukrainian air forces successfully intercepted 142 of 163 long-range drones launched overnight by Russia.
