A 26-year-old Indian youth reportedly died by suicide in the US, overwhelmed by debt, authorities confirmed Saturday. The bereaved family requested his identity be kept confidential, citing the delicate health of his elderly parents.
Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh conveyed his sympathies, pledging to assist in the repatriation process. 'I offer my heartfelt condolences to the family and urge Union Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu to streamline the transportation of the remains,' Lokesh wrote on X.
A US-based NRI reported on social media about the deceased, from Kurnool, who was on an Optional Practical Training program in Chicago. The Telugu Association of North America completed the requisite documentation for repatriation, urging for immediate cargo dispatch, originally set for Sunday, due to urgent circumstances.
