Historic Milestone: Two Hindu Men Break Barriers in Pakistan's Civil Service
Jeevan Rebari and Khem Chand Jandora, both from Sindh, have become part of Pakistan's federal civil service, marking a historic achievement for the Hindu minority. As the largest minority group in Pakistan, Hindus have been underrepresented in government positions. Their success highlights the ongoing struggle and efforts towards diversity and inclusivity.
In a landmark achievement for Pakistan’s Hindu community, Jeevan Rebari and Khem Chand Jandora have successfully joined the country’s federal civil service—a notable stride towards inclusivity in governmental roles.
Despite coming from backgrounds with limited resources, both men exemplify resilience and determination. Jeevan, who pursued higher education on general merit, and Khem Chand, who faced financial hardships for his education, have overcome significant personal and societal challenges. Their success underscores the perseverance of minorities in a system where representation has been historically low.
With approximately 123 minority-reserved seats unfilled, their stories highlight the urgent need for increased diversity in Pakistani government roles. This milestone signifies a broader movement toward equal opportunities, inspired by past successes like that of Rajendra Menghwar, the first Hindu Police Service officer.
