U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced Sunday that evidence ties a suspect to the shooting of a federal agent during a reported assassination attempt on President Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents' Dinner last weekend.

Pirro stated on CNN's "State of the Union" that a pellet from the defendant's Mossberg shotgun was found embedded in the Secret Service officer's vest, confirming the suspect's involvement. The accused, Cole Tomas Allen, allegedly breached a security checkpoint and discharged his weapon in the White House Correspondents' Dinner foyer, leading to multiple charges, including attempted assassination.

Acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche forecasted additional charges as the investigation progresses. He mentioned on NBC's "Meet the Press" that an indictment is likely as more information becomes available in the coming week.
