Britney Spears Pleads to Lesser Charge in DUI Case
Britney Spears has resolved a DUI case by pleading guilty to reckless driving, following March's arrest by the California Highway Patrol. Her lawyer entered the plea in Ventura County Superior Court. Originally charged with DUI, the pop star wasn't required to attend the misdemeanor proceeding.
Pop icon Britney Spears has reached a legal resolution in her driving under the influence case by pleading guilty to a lesser offense of reckless driving.
The plea, entered on her behalf by her attorneys in Ventura County Superior Court, comes after her March arrest for DUI by the California Highway Patrol.
Although originally charged with driving while impaired by drugs and alcohol, the 44-year-old singer did not appear in court as the charge was reduced to a misdemeanor.
