The National Crime Records Bureau's latest data highlights a worrying trend in Delhi, where crimes committed by foreigners soared to 201 cases in 2024, a sharp increase from 130 in 2023. This made Delhi the leading union territory for such incidents.
The 99% chargesheeting rate in Delhi surpasses the national average, illustrating an efficient police investigation process for cases involving foreign nationals.
Nationwide, these cases jumped to 2,792 in 2024 from 2,546 in 2023. West Bengal led the states with 992 cases, while Maharashtra and Tripura followed with 386 and 276 cases, respectively.
